Can Buddha Control The Line Of Scrimmage?
(Hoping the Saffron Revolution gets its legs and ushers in peaceful change.)

"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned."- Buddha

Wise words taken to heart by anyone still smarting from Week 3. Oh, 4-9-3 oh,oh,oh.
Let's check the MEFA picks hmmm not bad but what's this- the Doctor took a header on Monday night. Please let this week be better. It been crappy for Doctor Tomah'stm. Eight shots of Novacaine to the head has brought no enlightenment just less teeth, more fillings, and brain that's shaken not stirred to within an inch of reason.

So let's get to Week 4 of Doctor Tomah's Fresh Picklestm

Maimi-> Because Oakland's too busy looking ahead to its next opponent. Bye Week.

Houston-> Atlanta's reeling from Mike Vick's flunking of the drug test. Reeling.

Baltimore-> Ravens, you're a good team. Now go beat a bad one on the road. By 4. Thanks.

Chicago-> Switch a week too late to save the season? No, JIT, Grossman sucked. Good for you Lovie.

Minnesota-> The Doctor saw some hallucinogenic power rankings with the Packers at #5. Prove it Pack.

St. Louis-> It's about turf teams on the road against other turf teams. No, it's about the points. Too many.

Buffalo-> The Bills are going into next week's primetime game against Dallas 0-4? No effing way Dick!

*Carolina-> Panthers will beat the Bucs soundly. No joke. Cats don't laugh.

*Seattle-> The rarified 2-0 air got to the Niners. This week the descent continues.

Arizona-> Hey Cards! Do something all ready! Knockdown these frauds then roll over the Rams next week. OK?

Kansas City-> Believe it or not Herm is a better coach than Norv. The AFC West? Their tough on each other.

Indy-> Good is good. And The Broncos? They show'd ya anything? At all. Nice Bills and Raiders beat downs.

Philly-> Playoff game in September? You bet. The Clockmaker over Mad-Eye Moody in this one. Accio Dinero!

Which take us to the closest thing you'll get for an excuse from the Medicine Man himself. If he had known that the Eagles would hit the field dressed as "Pickachu" he'd a made a fortune. No ones beat Pickachu in the big stadium, right Ash. Except "Mew" or maybe "Mew Two" and the Lions didn't have either. "Pickachu I choose you". Consider yourselves warned. Pick the team with the most Pokeman.

Patriots-> Finally does anyone buy the Ocho Cinco act. He is waaay to nice to Coach Bill and the Pats. Think he and Carson are looking to make a big name against the biggest, fastest gun in the NFL. Fat chance. Know what the Pats hate more than a snitch. Yep. A Kiss Ass. Hasta luego Ocho CincOw!

Now to paraphrase the Enlighten One.

"Ennui has made more gamblers than avarice, more drunkards than thirst..."

It's Like It Never Happen (now go forth and sin no more...)

"All materials were destroyed and the Patriots also certified in writing that no copies or other records exist," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed.
Also destroyed by the NFL: The little black book recovered by Nic Cage at the end of "The Rock", the fabric of spacetime, and the launch codes for Miss Lindsay Lohan's chest. They were "zero zero one destruct zero" if anyone's interested

6-9-1 shabby even with...ahhh forget it, no excuses, get no silver plating in this cloud. But Hold Everything-the Patriots did what great teams do-The Patriots responded to adversity. And while The MEFA Picks totally tanked; loading up on the Monday night game (Kenan Thompson is an underrated comedic talent his "Mother McNabb" alone is genius) got folks well in a hurry.

So let's jump in to Doctor Tomah's Fresh Picklestm this Week Three.

Indy--> With respect to Coach Kubiak. Dungy,The Colts and Peyton send a statement. "You're in the way,Gar"
San Diego--> OK, in December, SD has no chance. But it it ain't Christmas. LT runs wild.
Kansas City--> Herm, tough road start to season. Get healthy or get lost. The next three weeks are worst.
Detroit --> Eagles are in turmoil. Yes, turmoil. NFL, please send Andy Reid Detroit's playbook or else 0-3.
*NYJets--> Now, let the Doctor ask you something. "Son, do you like money....?" The Jets.
San Francisco--> Meeting of 2-0 teams and one's getting 9 points. Hmmm let's take a chance. Niners.
Arizona--> Cards tough, Ravens are tougher at home. But 9 points tougher?
Tampa Bay--> In honor of Talk Like A Pirate Day this week, the Bucs audibles will begin with "Avast Ye..."
Denver--> To quote a disappointed H. Simpson on a gift from supervillain Hank Scorpio.."Ohhhh the Broncos.."
Seattle--> You can't fool Mike Holmgren twice. The Seahawks are ready this week. Right Mike.
Cleveland--> Onward and upward for the Browns. Oakland, what the happen? You use to be cool, man.
*Carolina--> The US Treasury is investigating rumors that betting this game is like printing money. Panthers.
Washington--> This a What Have Done For The Doctor Lately pick. And Washington, you've done a lot.
Chicago--> Soft 2-0 against a semi-solid 1-1. Soft is soft. Pick da Bears.
New Orleans--> Have you seen the show "K-Ville"? Flat out awesome. Has that guy from the kangaroo movie.

Now Doctor Tomahtm wouldn't bet the Pats game with PN23's money. Well, yeah he would. The Doctor is pathetic. So....
Buffalo--> Remember Bills, the Pats are just a team. If by team you mean the collective sons of Zeus. Armored by Vulcan himself. Yep, just a team.

After a Spring/Summer Hiatus the panning of pundits is on.
But first let's jump in this week with some Football Picks.

Accusations, Denials and Recriminations (Digitally Presented in HD): It is the way of things in the 21st century.

Opinion:"It is a subterfuge worthy of a Romulan"- Jean Luc Picard, Captain, Star Fleet.
Coach Bill Belichick could run anything. From the Big Dig to Mid-East Policy to Katrina Reconstruction...and do it well.
But for a second allow good Doctor Tomahtm to put aside his Coach BB adoration. The penalty handed down is more than fair. The Pats know that. They broke a rule. Done.
Besides what NFL coach wouldn't make the bargain with Ol' Scratch-"If I make the playoffs I will surrender my first round pick unto you (insert groveling here)". And don't start with the whiny ..."yeah but if the Patriots don't make it they'll lose a two and three..(insert hand wringing here)". Stop. Barring NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell making The New England Patriots play the rest of league two teams a time on game day(the remainder of the season), not making the playoffs is a remote possibility.
Coach Belichick made a mistake. He'll pay for it. And he'll continue to look for competitive advantage. Coach Bill is not sucking hind teat to anyone.
So climb aboard for the "Ultimate Us Against The World" season. Watch history be made. And be proud. You good fans of New England, you have the Jack Bauer of NFL coaches.

Now the horror 4-10-2 that was last week is over. It was bad. How bad? Doctor Tomahtm hired the Giant Glass folks to replace his windshield and start his car each morning. It's expensive being wrong. No one happy. Well a least the MEFA picks of the week were a wash. Love for the Green Bay pick? Anyone? (sigh).

Doctor Tomah'stm Fresh Pickles

Baltimore->Billick hates snitches. Ravens 13 Jets 0.
Houston-> Kubiak has an agile football mind. And a football team. Texans will cover.
Chicago-> Herm,Tim Gunn called."Project Runway" staff needs to teach new models how to lay down.Thots?
Cleveland-> Did you notice the name Romeo Crennel, barely mentioned this week. Hmmmm.
Dallas-> Wade, please repeat "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough....and gosh darn it Miami stinks" x3.
Denver-> A Mile High Massacre. Yep, Mike Shanahan's Broncos feed the Raiders some Rocky Mountain Oysters.
Detroit-> It's early but We Believe. But first. Hey, when "Robo" join the defense? Second,er... don't screw up.
*Indy-> Is Fisher's offense quick enough to compete with Indy's defense, Bill Cowher? "Yes...This seat is high"
Jacksonville-> Jags make the Falcons explain the Vick indictment through interpretive dance.
NY Giants-> No road magic for Farve, wait here comes Ron Weasley to save the day. Bullocks, he's an Eli fan.
Buffalo-> Really, you'd pick against the Bills. After this week. You sir are a stone cold gambler. Good Luck.
St. Louis-> By week six the 49ers will be holding up "Will Scrimmage For HGH" signs. The NFL won't fine 'em.
Arizona-> Two words Mike Holmgren. "Trap Game".
Washington-> Prediction."The team that takes care of the football wins." NFL coach? No, Nostr'damus in 1560.
*New Orleans-> Why, because New Orleans is a better football team and they are at home. So there!

And finally this week have you ever wanted to see a team win and win big, more than the Patriots this Sunday? Word is Norv Turner has sequestered his team, restricted Patriot employee access to the Chargers' hotel and brought in "Ring wraiths" to guard the team's play books. Won't help. As we dwaddle here, numerous automobiles are being brought in from a local Ford dealership and placed strategically around the hotel parking lot. Every 15 minutes or so, throughout the night, car alarms will sound then mysteriously silenced when NFL personnel arrive on the scene. Which car? Whose car? Diabolical? No just fans being fans. All in good fun.

New England-> LT wants to be a Patriot, sorry Coach Turner. Ty and Vince will convince him of this.
